A GRAB BAG OF GOODIES FROM MY NOTEBOOK.(SPORTS)

It's that time again: I've been traveling around four counties the past couple of weeks watching many sports events and talking to a lot of folks from the Capital Region sports world.

The notebook items therefore have been building up. It's time to get them in print.

Here goes:

1. Jack Huckel, former Skidmore College men's soccer coach and now the Director of Museum Services at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, wrote to tell me the Maple Hill vs. Byron-Bergen boys' state Class C semifinal on Nov. 16 was ``not the coldest of tournament games'' he has ever attended.
