The famous loggerhead turtle resort of Mon Repos has been busy this summer, showingheartening signs that researchers are winning the battle to stop the population decline.

Decades of work with the endangered species at the Bundaberg rookery have been rewardedwith the reversal of a downward spiral in numbers of nesting turtles.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service senior researcher COL LIMPUS says more than 200loggerheads have been recorded this breeding season so far.
